Candy AI is a browser-based platform. You chat with fictional AI characters through text, voice, images, and video. Each companion is generated by artificial intelligence, it exists only inside the service, and it has no real emotions, intentions, or ability to keep promises.
Roleplay follows the prompts and themes you provide. You can start casual chats, fictional stories, or relationship scenarios, as long as your content follows the Community Guidelines and applicable law. Candy AI characters are fictional even when their replies sound personal, so treat offers of real-life meetings or promises of real-world outcomes as part of the fictional interaction.
Adults only: you must be at least 18 years old, or meet the legal age requirement where you live. The site shows an age gate before access.
Two routes exist once you are inside. You can pick a ready-made profile and start talking immediately, or you can build a companion from scratch in the Candy AI character creator, which is covered in its own walkthrough.
Candy AI combines chat, voice, image and video interactions

Text chat is the starting point
Text chat is where most Candy AI interactions begin. Paid access gives you unlimited messaging, and the companion uses the conversation so far, the settings you selected, and stored context to personalise later replies. That stored context is the reason a character can refer back to a detail from an earlier session instead of restarting cold every time.
Free users get five messages, which is enough to judge the tone of a profile but not enough to test memory.

The voice layer does three things. It lets you hear a character in a chosen style from soft, energetic, calming, bold, or deep. It delivers voice notes from your characters inside the chat. And it opens the AI Phone Call feature, which is in beta for selected characters and runs at 3 tokens per minute.
Because the call meter is per minute, voice is the easiest way to spend a monthly token allowance without noticing. A thirty-minute call is 90 tokens, which is most of a month.
Image generation, one to sixteen per request
The image generator lets you select an existing character or create one. You write a text prompt, then adjust details such as outfit, action, pose, accessories, and scene. Each request can produce between one and 16 images, and both realistic and anime-style options are available.
Consistency is the practical reason to generate from a saved companion rather than from a blank prompt: the character built in the character creator carries its appearance into every later render.
Short AI video, still in beta
AI video is available through the video creator and remains in beta. You choose a duration of 5, 10, 15, or 20 seconds, and the tool can turn a selected image into a short video rather than starting from text alone.
The Premium subscription includes 18+ image generation, 18+ video generation, and the Full Live Action Experience. Media creation still uses the token balance shown for your account, so a subscription does not mean unlimited image or video generation.
What the media side of Candy AI actually produces
Profiles are the entry point to the generator. Picking one locks an appearance you can keep re-rendering in new outfits, poses and scenes, which is what makes a set of images look like the same character rather than three different people.
Content controls apply to every format
Candy AI applies content controls to text, images, videos, and voice messages. Prohibited material includes:
- Content involving minors
- Non-consensual intimate imagery and real-person likenesses
- Sexual violence and animal abuse
- Terrorism, self-harm instructions, and illegal activity
- Attempts to bypass moderation
Tokens pay for the extended features, not ordinary messages
Tokens are the part of the pricing that surprises people. They pay for extended features, not ordinary text messaging. The paid subscription generally includes 100 tokens per month, and you can spend them on image generation, voice notes, phone calls, and other media features.
The exact token cost appears in the relevant feature or checkout flow. Image, video, and custom-character costs can vary by feature and by request, so the number you see on the screen is the number that counts.

Candy AI plans span weekly, monthly and annual billing terms
Candy AI's United States subscription page offers one Premium package in several billing frequencies. The payment term sets the price and how often you renew; the Premium features stay the same whichever term you pick.

Each listed paid term includes unlimited text messages, 100 tokens per month, custom AI character creation, 18+ image and video generation, and the Full Live Action Experience. Candy AI also offers a seven-day trial with full access to chat, voice, image, and video features; the trial becomes paid access once you choose a subscription and enter your payment details.
Checkout, renewal and refunds
Subscriptions renew automatically at the same term and price shown at checkout, and the renewal charge is processed at the start of the next period. Local taxes may also apply to a United States payment. Candy AI accepts credit cards, Pay by Bank, and other methods available in a given country, and the site also lists cryptocurrency payments including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDC.
To cancel, open Settings in your account and select Unsubscribe. Cancellation stops the next renewal and your paid access stays active until the current billing period ends. Refund requests for card subscriptions and token purchases follow these rules:
- Request within 24 hours of payment; this is the normal deadline.
- Subscription refunds can be refused after more than 20 tokens have been used.
- Token purchase refunds can be refused once any of those tokens have been used.
Tip: check the checkout screen for the exact terms before you confirm. The 12-month option works out to $3.99 per month, while the monthly plan rises to $13.99 after the first month, so the right term depends on how long you expect to stay.
Getting started with Candy AI begins with a browser signup
Candy AI works in desktop, mobile, and tablet browsers. You do not need to install a separate app.
- Open candy.ai from a desktop or mobile browser. Browse character profiles and preview the service before creating an account.
- Select the registration option when you are ready to start chatting.
- After signing in, choose a ready-made character or open the character creator, then select the companion's appearance, personality, interests, and voice.
- On a phone, add the site to your home screen from the browser's share or menu option for faster access.
Five free messages, then a paid term unlocks unlimited messaging and the Premium feature set.

The voice styles are what sold me. I set a calming voice for late-night chats and an energetic one for the daytime character, and the voice notes arrive without me asking for them.
Batching sixteen images from one prompt changed how I use the generator. I pick the two that work, adjust the outfit and pose, and run it again. Tokens go fast, so plan the prompt first.
Video is still beta and it shows at twenty seconds, but turning a generated image into a short clip is genuinely fun. Chat memory across sessions is the part I would actually miss.
I started on the weekly payment to test it and moved to the annual one after a fortnight. The custom character I built is the only reason I stayed; the stock profiles were fine but generic.

No. Candy AI grants personal access for entertainment or educational purposes only. Its terms prohibit commercial use of the platform, your account or the content it generates unless you have obtained authorization.
What happens if Candy AI flags your content?
Candy AI can moderate or change a request before it generates an output. Flagged conversations or media may be reviewed manually. Violations can lead to content removal, account restrictions, suspension, termination, or a report to the appropriate authorities.
